Kelly-Anne (RYT-200) I do my yoga using the energy of Vinyasa flow enabling all to shine.

I am – A collection of life experiences reflecting my passion to know myself that I may serve others.

Yoga brings much to my life, a way to peace, love and joy. A freedom and engagement in the here and now all linked in to the physical breath and alignment of the body in a pose. I believe that Yoga is a process as life is; fluid and evolving in each moment. I invite you to take the journey with me.

Shelley’s first dive into yoga began in a Bikram Yoga class. This inspired her to get her intensive 100 hour hot yoga training. Shelley received her RYT-200 in Richmond, Virginia at Yoga Source under Jennifer Wlliot (Ashtanga), Lynn Brooke (Flow), & Sandra Pleasants (Iyengar). She has taken workshops with Stephanie Keach, Doug Swenson, Andrey Lappa’s Universal Yoga, and she is FITour certified through the YMCA. Her goal is to share the invaluable training and knowledge from all the wonderful teachers she’s had an opportunity to practice under. Every teacher and class has cultivated an aspect of the physical practice but more importantly has fostered areas of personal growth. Her favorite activities include being a mother to her three beautiful children and wife to her loving husband.

She encourages her students to find balance in their lives and freedom through self-awareness. Move through your practice with Shelley’s humor and compassion as she feels that the “real” yoga happens once we step off the mat and into our daily lives. Transforming bodies while feeding the mind and spirit and achieving a sense of overall well-being is her ultimate goal.

“Everyday is a new learning experience for me to enhance my opportunities and share my passion for all that yoga embraces.”

Angi (RYT -200) began to practice yoga for the physical benefits, and as a way of accepting her body. Over time, of course, her body changed and Angi also found that yoga helped with both accepting and changing more than just the physical! She believes the physical benefits of yoga can change your days, but the mental effects will change your life.

She completed her Yoga Alliance teacher training with Dolly Stavros through Red Stone Yoga and greatly enjoys continued growth by exploring and seeking new teachers, styles and experiences. Angi offers challenging classes for students to observe their reactions and explore their possibilities. Her firm belief is that everyone, from beginner to experienced practitioner, can benefit from finding their limits and stretching beyond!

Beth has been passionately involved in the fitness industry for almost 10 years. She began teaching Step and Sculpt classes back in 1996. Her interest in fitness and group exercise led her into obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the Ohio State University. After graduation, she became a certified Personal Trainer for Multiplex Fitness Clubs in Chicago. She then moved to Charlotte in 2001 and continued to teach Group Exercise classes at the YMCA’s and continue personal training.

In 2001, Beth received certification to teach Pilates through Fittour. She is currently certified in levels 1 and 2 and has completed the Teacher Training program last year allowing her to certify other Pilates instructors.. Teaching Pilates led her to become interested in Yoga. She was then certified to teach Yoga, levels 1 and 2, through Yogafit in 2005. She has practiced yoga for almost 3 and ½ years and taught for almost 2 years and loves every minute of it. Beth is currently AFAA certified in Group Exercise and Personal Training as well.

"I look forward to seeing you in my classes here at Yogaflex!"

Stephanie (RYT- 200) began her yoga journey almost 6 years ago and was immediately hooked. What she loves most about practicing yoga is the constant opportunities it allows her to learn, to grow, and to become inspired. Soon after her first few yoga classes she decided to try incorporating yoga into her 1st grade classroom in hopes that the children would also find many of these same joys. The students were naturals with the poses and they looked forward to “Yoga Time”.  From that minute on she was on a mission to become a yoga teacher.  When Stephanie is teaching, she strives to encourage her students to challenge their bodies while keeping a peaceful mind and a lighthearted attitude.  Her goal is to create an environment where students are allowed the freedom to do their best, on that day, in that moment and to feel deserving of the time they took out of their busy day to come to yoga class. Stephanie completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification under the guidance of Dolly Stavros.  She has also been fortunate to study with Stephanie Keach and holds a pre-natal certification.  In addition, she completed the YogaKids Foundation’s training.

“The mind is everything; what you think, you become.” - Buddha

Lecia  (RYT-200) began practicing yoga as a form of cross-training for a marathon she was preparing for. Regular practice stretched out her tightened muscles, strengthened her back and shoulders, and taught her balance and grace. These things helped her to become a better runner and made her marathon training more comfortable. Soon, Lecia found that these benefits and the peace she found on her mat were applicable to her whole life, not just the time she spent in her running shoes. Now she practices yoga to explore the "stuff" that comes up in everyday life. Yoga is her tool for expanding both body and mind. Lecia strives to challenge her students both physically and mentally and is excited to witness the growth that they find for themselves.

Amity (RYT- 200)has been in the fitness industry for 11 years.  She is certified as a Spinning instructor, Pilates instructor and Yoga instructor.  She has also coached High School Athletics at the JV and Varsity level.  Amity was introduced to yoga 4 years ago while exploring ways to enhance her teaching of pilates.  She was seeking new ways to challenge the core and looking to incorporate them into the classes that she was already teaching.  She was mostly drawn in by the incredible strength that she gained after practicing for a short period of time. But, after time, she noticed that she was reaping many more benefits than just the physical ones.   She even noticed that she was just a happier, nicer and more compassionate person!

Shortly after starting her practice she started teacher training and became certified to teach.  She has taken several workshops and trained under Stephanie Keach, including prenatal certification. Amity wants to help students satisfy their physical needs while experiencing and enhancing emotional, physical, and spiritual needs as well.  Transforming bodies while feeding the mind and spirit and achieving a sense of over all well-being is her ultimate goal.

Mara Healy (E-RYT-200) has had a focused yoga practice since the winter of 2002.   She is a householder devoted to her husband of 18 years and a mother of three children.    She has teacher trained in Power Yoga, Hot 26tm, Ashtanga, Universal Yoga and Classical Raja Yoga.  Her biggest yoga influences come from teachers Andrey Lappa and Chandra Om.  Mara has trained with Andrey Lappa, Chandra Om, Manju Jois and Grace Morales.  She has had the pleasure of meeting and workshopping with several other well-known and lesser known yogis and yoginis.  Mara is committed to providing students with a devotional, and physically challenging asana practice that balances the inner self as well as the outer self.

Brooke (RYT- 200) first came to her mat as a form of physical therapy after a minor car accident. It wasn't long before healing and transformation began not only physically ,but mentally and spiritually as well. Through the integration of breath and asana, Brooke focuses on exploration of the present moment, encouraging growth both on and off the mat.  "Practicing yoga has helped me to find my most optimal expression of self. I am honored to guide others through their own journey of purification of the mind, healing of the body, and rejuvenation of the soul."  Brooke completed a 230 hour Yoga Alliance certification under the guidance of Dolly Stavros and Red Stone Yoga. She has also been fortunate to study with Stephanie Keach, and holds a pre-natal certification.  Through compassion and light-heartedness, Brooke hopes to reach out to individuals and share in the profound benefits practicing yoga can have.

Dena (RYT-200) has participated in competitive sports her whole life but only after she became pregnant with her first child did she turn to yoga. With the early intention of just "keeping in shape" during her pregnancy, she realized that yoga was much bigger than that. She was fortunate enough to have Johnna Smith as one of her first teachers and Johnna allowed her spiritual awareness to awaken. Dena believes that yoga teaches gratitude and contentment with the person that is reflected in the mirror. Once the foundation is there, one can honor the world and people around them.

Dena has studied extensively under Stephanie Keach, Pamela Hart and Grace Morales as well as completed workshops with Bryan Kest and Seane Corn in the Vinyasa Power Yoga and Hot Yoga.   She has also completed her Yoga Kids Training under Jane Ann Tangler as well as PreNatal Training under Stephanie Keach. Dena's teaching style reflects that of the need to sweat and challenge oneself with the use of breath and spirit and a bit of humor! She believes that you must love and enjoy the process!
